
English Saturday Club (ESC) in all life center began using the new curriculum. After Lifeceter in Bali . And our Life Center in Dawung, Gunung Kidul, Yogyakarta became the last life center which was given the teacher training for volunteers and PIC led by Selvie Novayanti on Saturday, April 16, 2016. The training is given in order to teach the new systems and ideas to make learning and teaching for our foster kids, as well as how to give a progress report to the Head Office in Jakarta before the submission to donors, partner, and brother fosters. We also provide English language books to be studied in this ESC program.
In the same occasion, we also provide training for foster kids in Life Center Dawung called Mini Life Leadership Training. The workshops are led by one of Ant Charity senior volunteers, Yohanes M. Adidjaja. This training is intended to help children identify a variety of professions in the surrounding areas through personal experience, appreciate different types of jobs that exist and understand the opportunities that exist for the types of jobs , such as: chefs, architects, doctors, nurses, laborers building, baby sitter, tailors, barbers, pitchman, garbage collector, motorcycle taxi drivers, taxi drivers, printing and farmers. During this training, our foster kids divided into small groups (5-6 people) supervised by volunteers from the area Muntilan who were willing to help Ant Charity in the training. In this training foster kids shared their experiences during the activities at the Mini Life Training and then got a short briefing about the importance of education to achieve certain professions, and they were also taught the importance of saving money and simple way to think about priorities in spending money.
